Oh happy day...

Happy Monday everyone!
Recently, October Afternoon had their warehouse sale and I scooped up some beautiful paper for a great price! OA is one of my very favorite paper companies because, well... there are too many reason's to list so let's just look at today's cards.

This cutie (Pure Innocence) has a paper pieced skirt and is colored with Copic markers. The sentiment referenced clouds and sunshine and OA has awesome cloud paper!

This easy peasy card uses an OA journal card along with a Papertrey sentiment and die.

Don't you love when things come together so easy? I sure do!

Have a happy Monday!

With Sympathy

I lost my last Aunt this week. She was 90, lived a wonderful life and passed away peacefully after spending the evening laughing with her family. What a perfect way to go.

I wanted the last card I made her (well, her family) to be light and colorful.

I had been saving this scrap of paper forever, so long in fact that I can't even remember what company it's from. I just know that I loved it and used every piece.

A white tag for the sentiment (Fillable Frame #11 and Through the Trees both PTI) just didn't work, so I used my Copic airbrush to spray it yellow. Again... didn't work. So, I took a piece of textured paper towel, covered it with Colorless Blender and laid it on the tag. It pulled just enough yellow off to make this great tag! The paper has a similar yellow background, so it matches perfectly. Happy dance!

The gorgeous flowers are Zva Creative (from Starlitstudio) , and the pearls are from my stash.

I think Aunt Marge would have liked this and I hope she is smiling down on me knowing I made it with love.

Thanks for stopping by!

Purple Flowers

A couple weeks ago my friend Bevie told me how to make these pretty little flowers using the Tattered Florals die (Tim Holtz Alterations). I sat down with some purple/periwinkle cardstock and gave them a try. They are so easy!

This past weekend I used them to create these:

I actually made 12 cards, some being duplicates of these. All papers are from an old SU! 6x6 paper pad.

For this one I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder, PTI die, Penny Black sentiment and ribbon from Michaels.

Spellbinders ribbon tag, PTI sentiment and May Arts ribbon.

QuicKutz embossing folder, metallic rub-ons and Spellbinders ribbon tag.

EK Success border punch, Spellbinders ribbon die, PTI sentiment and May Arts ribbon.

Martha Stewart punch and PTI sentiment

It was a fun way of mass producing without getting bored by the same design.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm really glad you did!
