Saturday morning

Happy Saturday everyone! I love Saturdays. I always seem to wake up early (used to it from the weekdays I'm suppose), but I love being able to just sit, enjoy some blog hopping and not have to race to work.

Last Saturday I was playing with a new set from Penny Black that I just bought, Flower Festival. I tried a technique I've been seeing lately... stamping and embossing the image in white before coloring. I love the soft look of this style.

For this card, I stamped the same flower the traditional way (with black ink). See the difference?
My favorite part? I can get two totally different looks from the same stamp! Now that is being economical! LOL
I'm off to enjoy my morning and do a bit of stamping. See you soon!

Happy Spring!

Boy, it sure does feel like Spring here in MN! A very WARM 70+ degree Spring! LOL

I've been having fun playing with Springy / Easter cards lately.

This image from Lili of the Valley, Easter Sweeties, is one of my all time favorites! I love the duckies.

I am having a heck of a time with Blogger ever since I upgraded to IE9. I can't highlight or change colors/fonts. grrrrrrrr. It makes for some pretty boring posts. *sigh*

Thanks for stopping by!

One of a Kind

Today, I have a clean & simple card to share with you.

I just love white on white. The tree die is from Memory Box and the sentiment is Papertrey. The flowers were from a stamp I got at Michael's years ago.

See you soon!

Hello Friend!

Hello Hello! It was another beautiful weekend and I can almost feel summer coming on (I sure hope we don't skip Spring, but holy moly... it was in the 60's!)

Speaking of summer, my current stamp set from Raisin Boat (I subscribe to their program and get 2 stamps sets each month to play with. It's a cool program!) Sealed with a Kiss, is really a Valentine set, but it has this adorable mason jar with Monarch butterflies that I couldn't resist. (Monarch's = summer for me in case you didn't get that connection. LOL)

I stamped the mason jar and two butterflies on white cardstock and cut it out. After coloring (with Copics) I stamped the jar again on vellum and glued it over the top. It makes the butterflies look like they are inside the jar. I used gold metallic rub-on for the jar rim.

The sentiment is Papertrey, papers are all My Minds Eye and the ticket die is My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate it!'

Celebrate!

It's a beautiful day here in MN, the sun is shining, I have the window open and am loving the fresh air coming in!

I recently ordered this cute stamp, Party Girl, from Lili of the Valley. She reminds me of my granddaughter, Elise, who loves to wear dresses. The fancier the better. LOL

Elise has a birthday coming up, she's going to be 5! OMGosh how the time flies! Anyway.. I thought this stamp would be perfect for her card.

Papers are from WR Memory Keepers and Echo Park. All the glitter (believe me, there's a lot!) is Martha Stewart.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Finding Inspiration

I was over on Splitcoaststampers yesterday, looking for inspiration, and this time I found it on the Inspiration Challenge forum - . The challenge was to go to this fabulous website, Superfine Bakery (OMG swoooon!) select a cake as your inspiration and creation something.

Here is the cake I selected:

Here is my card:

I used a white core cardstock, embossed it with a Quickutz embossing folder and then sanded the image to replicate the piping on the cake. The flower is 2 sizes of flowers from the Tattered Florals die, cut out of white cardstock. I gave them a light shade of pink with pearlescent chalk and then curled the edges a bit. The sentiment is PTI.

I'm loving these challenges. They really make me think outside the box!

When a card morphs...

Hi all - happy Friday!
I have the day off and am enjoying time playing around with new stuff.

I went over to Splitcoaststampers to see what challenges are going on and found the Friday Free 4 All challenge. Today's theme is "blue flowers". That's where I started...

This is where I ended up. LOL Now you understand my title! I went from a simple, blue flower card to the side of a cabin in springtime. I love when my creative brain takes a bunch of twists & turns.

I used the Small Madison Window and Small Flower Box dies from Memory Box along with various small flower punches from EK Success. The tulips are a Hero Arts stamp I've had forever and the sentiment is from Wildflower Garden (Papertrey Ink). Papers are from Dilly Dally and Dolled Up 6x6 pads (My Minds Eye).

I hope you are having a wonderful day - thanks for stopping by!
