Birdie Thanks!

This is a quick little card, for a quick little post.

DH and I are heading up to play with our two granddaughters for a few days. Their parents are going to a wedding out of state and are entrusting those little cuties in our care (hmmmm, do you suppose they realize how much we can spoil them while they're gone?).

Gracie and I (she's 5 1/2) are going to make Halloween cards. She loves to color G'ma's images. I know she's just dying to get her hands on my Copics, but she's going to have to make do with the regular markers. lol

G'pa's going to get lots of exercise running after Elise (she's 1 1/2)! Man that girl can move!

So, what does this all have to do with a cute Thank-you card?
Nothing. :o)

See you next week!

Birthday Birdie

Let's have a Party! WooHOOO! It's birthday week!

My good friend Piris is celebrating her birthday this week (Thursday the 25th) and I'd like to shower her will good wishes! Hop over to her place Iris Garden and leave her a Happy Birthday note! Tell her HB sent ya!

Now... about this card. I got this adorable stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs a month or so ago and haven't been able to ink it up (I KNOW!). He is just the funnest thing to color! I also added a bit of glitter to his hat and some Glossy Accents to his balloon. (you can click on the picture to see it up close)

I love images like this that stand alone... you don't need a lot of fluff or even a sentiment on the front of the card.

Oh, I forgot to mention... everyone gets to eat cake during Birthday Week! Enjoy!!

oooo' icing!

Who doesn't love icing? Especially glitterfied icing! lol

I adore these little cupcakes from the Merry Muffin set by Stampendous! For this card I used paper from a DCWV paper pack called Nana's Nursery. The top piece of the card has sparklie cherries all over it. :o)

I paper pieced the cupcake holders and used Liquid Pearls to create the frosting. It's just thick enough to build up texture. I added a sprinkle of glitter before it dried. The critters are colored with Copic markers.

Because I have limited supplies (you remember, the whole moving thing), I didn't have any pink cardstock to match the paper. The central image just screamed for a color border! What's a girl to do??? Reach for the Copic markers, of course. I cut a mat out of white cardstock and colored the edge of it with R22 Light Prawn, but finding it too bright, I colored over it with RV11 Pink. It matched perfectly! Man, I love those markers! I finished it off with a white scallop border.

The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock after cutting and embossing the circle using a round Nestability. I ran a glue pen around the edge and sprinkled on some deliciously pink glitter.

The Merry Muffin set is available exclusively at Eclectic Paperie! I just have to give the store a shameless plug because those girls (Joy & Daisy) are just the best enablers to my addiction!
Go look! You'll see what I mean!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

The witch is in!

This is me. I have a cold and I'm feeling a little *witchy*. I'd love to be able to pull my hat over my head and hide out until it's gone! LOL!!!

I adore these witchy legs from the Hocus Pocus set (Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper Designs). There is just something about those hairy legs and funny socks!

I've had *The Witch is In* stamp forever. I think it was from the Michael's $bin.

A little coloring, some gorgeous Little Yellow Bicycle paper, a super cool fuzzy ribbon and waLA... a card is born!
Oh, and I had to add some sparkle with a Spica glitter pen (purple and orange)!

I'm off to nurse my cold. If any one wants it... I'll ship it free! :)

Birthday Wishes

I tell ya, trying to find MoJo when half my stuff is packed in boxes is getting real challenging! lol
I accepted a new position in the bank I work for, so until our house sells, I'm living in St. Paul during the week and then back home for the weekends. I brought a limited amount of supplies with me because I just CAN'T not stamp! But, can you imagine what it's like to be in a constant Limited Supply Challenge?

I have a number of birthday's on the calendar in the next month, so I reached for my new Stampendous Birthday Brackets set (Eclectic Paperie has it in stock AND on sale!!!).

I created the scallop border with my corner punch (with the base removed) and layered it with white. The sentiment is stamped directly on the pattern paper and embossed with white detail embossing powder. The little scallop corner is made using a Martha Stewart border punch. I simply placed it over the corner I found the look I wanted, and then trimmed away the excess.

The candles are stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and accented with glitter. (The green candle really does match the paper in real life! It just looks kinda wonky in the pic.)

Super simple (and FLAT) card, ready to fill with birthday wishes and hugs.

Oh, I have to show you this card. Chris takes care of my husband's bookwork and she sent this to congratulate me on my new job. Isn't it just the CUTEST thing!!! I've never had the pleasure of meeting her in real life, but she's a stamper, and she keeps DH organized so she's TOP SHELF in my book!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Ghoulish Greetings

I am SO loving getting ready for Halloween this year! I made this card using two of the new Stamp A Sweet Impression sets by Taylored Expressions.

The spooooky forest (don't you just love that little grave stone! lol) is made using images from Frightful Night. I stamped the trees in Weathered Wood Distress Ink. It gives them kind of a foggy look. The bats are stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink, some using 2nd generation ink. I stamped the moon in black also and then colored it with Copic markers. It just seems to glow, doesn't it!

And the Vampire.... OMGOSH I think he is my favorite! (along with the ghost and the mummy and the cat... lol) He is from the Trick or Sweet set.

Mr. Vampire cupcake is stamped on white cardstock in black, colored with Copic markers and then colored with a black shimmer pen. I cut out the image and attached it using foam tape. Doesn't it look like he's guarding the forest?

I hope you're having a ghoulishly fun day!

Pile on the Sweets!

When I first saw this pile of cupcakes in the new Sweet Celebration set by Taylored Expressions, I giggled and thought, "that poor bottom cupcake, getting all squished under that pile of sweets!".

Well, I just had to make a card using those thoughts. I used my Karen Foster Snap Stamps to create the sentiment along the bottom. The inside of the cards simply states " because it's your birthday!"

The cupcakes are stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink and colored with Copic Markers. I stamped once on the image panel and then again on a scrap piece of cardstock, cut it out and used foam tape to give some dimension. You know, I tend to color and cut alot don't I? LOL I guess it relaxes me.

I added glitter around the edge of the image panel and then matted it on brown and then pink.

The yummy ribbon (American Crafts) is tied through a notch in the image panel.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the Bakers Dozen (Taylor's design team) is up to. You'll find their links over on the side.

I hope you're having a yummy day!

Frightful & Delightful

Could anyone really be afraid of spiders when they look like this?

I colored the cat (doesn't he just look like he saying "I didn't do it!"?) with Copic markers, and then stamped the spider along side using Black Soot Distress Ink. He needed a little something more, so I stamped him again on a white scrap of cardstock in the same ink, colored over the top with a black shimmer pen, cut him out and then used foam tape to attach him over the original.

Don't they just look like a pair? Ready to get into trouble with those innocent little faces. LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Cupcakes + pocket card = CUTE!

I love making bright and happy birthday cards for our granddaughters! Gracie's birthday is coming up soon, and what could be more bright and happy than the cupcakes in the new Sweet Celebration set by Taylored Expressions pared with the papers and bellies in the coordinating Birthday Girl Key Ingredients kit!

I stamped the cupcake repeatedly in a line and then trimmed out just the top half. The cupcake wrappers are paper-pieced using another of the fabulous papers in the kit. I colored their little hats with Copic markers and added a tich of glitter to the pompoms. Little girls are all about the sparkle you know!

The inside card has slots to hold a gift card (McDonalds for yogurt parfaits! yummmm) and a perfect place to write a message behind it. The ice cream cone, another stamp from the Sweet Celebration set, was stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and cut out. I love the little hat and gift! (you can click on the photo for a closer look)

One (well, one of many) of the things I learned from Marianne at Copic is that if you want something to look *white*, outline it in blue. I used the palest shade, B000, to outline each of the cupcakes. Boy, does that make them stand out in real life!

Be sure and stop over at the Taylored Expressions blog. You can see all of the adorable stamps that come in the Sweet Celebration set (there are 9 of them!) along with what comes in the Key Ingredients kit. What an easy peasy way to get ahead on your birthday card stash!
The stamp sets, the kits and alot of other fabulous things can be found at Taylor's store.

hmmmm, now I'm hungry for a yogurt parfait!

Excitement!

When I received the email from Taylor VanBruggen asking me to join the rotating design team for her new stamp line, I squealed so loud my DH almost fell out of his chair. Not only do I adore Taylor and all that she creates, but she has a heart as big as the whole United States and to be able to be at the start of this venture with her... well, you can just about imagine how excited I am.

Well, today is THE day! The day when Taylor shares with the world what she has been *baking* for so long!

I knew my first project with her stamps had to be something special. My mind instantly went to this picture of our granddaughter, Gracie. She was about 3 and dressed up as a kitty for Halloween. The verse from the Trick or Sweet stamp set by Taylored Expressions was perfect and the kitty cupcake?... it was sooo totally meant to be!

I found the frame at Michaels and it was perfect to showcase the stamps in a scrapbook fashion. These stamps are pink rubber and so deeply etched. They stamp perfect no matter what I've stamped them on, textured cardstock, smooth paper, etc. And the packaging... WOW! Check out the Taylored Expressions blog to see this cool way to store your collection!

There are 3 sets in this release; Trick or Sweet, Frightful Night and Sweet Celebration, and they are available exclusively at Taylored Expressions. I also have a link to the store over on my sidebar.

Be sure to also check out the Taylored Expressions blog to see each of the sets (warning - hold on to your chair first though!).

Taylor also has a Key Ingredient kit available. These kits coordinate perfectly with these sets and include:
*8 sheets of Prism cardstock
*50 coordinating brads
*5 yards of coordinating (and delicious!) ribbon
*16 sheets of 6x6 Doodlebug pattern paper
*Glitter

You can complete a bucket full of projects with these kits!

Be sure and check out the other members of Taylor's design team. They have really outdone themselves! You'll find their links over on the side under Taylored Expressions.

*NEW* Sneak Peak

OMGOSH! I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am for this day to finally get here! Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to keep secrets when the secret is as exciting as this?

This project started as a wooden recipe/picture holder I found at the local craft store for $1. I covered it with Prism cardstock and Doodlebug papers using white glue. Once the papers were dry, I sanded the edges using an emory board.

The adorable (and not so scary) house is from the new Spooky Sweets stamp set by Taylored Expressions. I stamped the house, grass and moon on Neenah white cardstock, colored each with Copic markers and cut them out. I used just a tich of chipboard behind the house to raise it up a bit and then glued it all into place.

This picture shows the holder without a recipe card. IF I hadn't already packed my paints (we're moving), I would have painted the inside, so please use your imagingation! lol

I colored the wooden peg (that the spring is attached to) with a Copic marker (ya! They even color wood!) and then wrapped it with a piece of delicious sheer swirly ribbon from Taylored Expressions.

The sentiment (isn't that just PERFECT for a recipe card holder? Especially when the recipe is for Red Velvet Cupcakes!) is stamped on orange Prism cardstock and punched out with an oval punch (SU!). The bat is from the new Frightful Night stamp set by Taylored Expressions. I stamped it on white cardstock with black ink, covered it with black glitter and then trimmed it out.
Remember, you can click on any of the images to get a closer look.

Tomorrow is the big reveal, so be sure to stop back! The excitement just about has me ready to burst! You'll also want to hop over to Taylor's blog to see even more exciting info!
