Flowering Tree

Being one who has collected soooo many stamps over the years, when I find ones I like now they must be versitile in order for me to spend my $$ on them. That's one of the reasons I'm so drawn to Papertrey Ink stamps. Not only are they adorable in every way, I can create and create with the same set and end up with something different each time.

I was playing with Beyond Basic Borders tonight. (It's a set designed by my friend Pine, but that's not the only reason I love it. :o) ) I usually use this tree as a *tree*, but tonight I decided to make it into a flowering tree!

I used a Cuttlebug die (a paisley die with little flowers in it) to cut the flowers and leaves out of the same cardstock I used on the card (I LOVE when colors match!). The flowers actually punch out with a center hole, so when I glued them to the tree, the green dots show through. How cool is that!?!

You can see a closer look at the flowers by clicking on this image.

I added a strip of some fun springy paper (Adornit), a satin ribbon (May Arts)and a heart pin (Making Memories) for the finishing touch.
Try looking at your stamps with a different eye. You may be surprised by what you see!

Oh my, this is just too cute. I have coveted those sets for a while and have resisted them.....you're making it harder to do so! Love the DP, too!
