Felt flowers

Another quick and easy card today. I was paging through the new Hero Arts catalog the other day, drooling over all the new stamps and the fabulous samples and came upon this way cool card made with signs. Using the base layout, I created this simple birthday card.

I've had the felt flowers (Ziva Creative from Taylored Expressions) for a while and this is the perfect layout to use them. I cut the BoBunny polka dot paper at a curve, attached it to the white cardstock and then attached various sizes of clear rhinestones.

Each flower has a different center... a brad, a felt heart, a pink rhinestone, a yellow brad and a gold rhinestone.
The leaves behind the flower are free cut from the reverse side of the polka dot cardstock.
See, super duper easy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's for the Grandbabies

I found this paper by K&Company that is filled with little Valentine images. It was just SO cute I had to get it. I don't often make cards without any stamping (ya, I know it's a major trend to use just scrapbook paper on cards, but hey... I have a gazzilion $$ worth of stamps! lol). Anyway... Here are the cards I made for our granddaughters Gracie and Elise this year.

Elise is a 21 month little pixie and this sweet little chick was perfect for her. I edged the image with glitter and then matted it on dark pink. The sparklie ribbon (Taylored Expressions) added just the right *pop*.

The heart (Marvy scallop punch) is outlined in alternating pink Tiny Twinkles and white paint dots.

We gave Elise an Elmo movie and a red heart sucker along with this card. Elmo got top billing! LOL!

Gracie is 6 and is truly our little cupcake! She's blonde, blue eyed and so smart! (yes, I am a proud Grandma! lol!)

I cut strips from a coordinating paper also by K & Company (it's all hearts and cupcakes) and tied ribbons between the strips.

I added a dark pink Tiny Twinkle to each cupcake in the bottom row. Oh, we LOVE the bling! ;o)

We gave Gracie the High School Musical III cd, along with a red heart sucker and the card. Guess what won? O' ya... HSM at loud volume ROCKS! LOL!!!

Thank goodness their mom loves my cards!

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with sweet things!

Birthday wishes

I needed a birthday card for a friend at work and as I looked at my stamps, this Whipper Snapper one had worked it's way to the top. I almost bypassed it because I tend to think of it as a Fall stamp. Don't know why, I probably just have always used it with Fall papers and colors.

Well, no more!

I still had this new Making Memories paper on my table that I just bought, so I pulled the colors from it. The large peach flower is stamped a second time on scratch paper, cut out and attached with foam tape. It's hard to see in the pic, but there are little touches of yellow Stickles on the center of each of the flowers.

The tag, which I airbrushed with a Copic marker to give it some color, is tied to a button, which is attached to the ribbon tag with a glue dot.

The finished card is 5x5. I just love that size! It allows the beautiful paper to show when using a larger image.
It's a beautiful, sunny day in MN! I hope the sun is shining on YOU today!

Thanks!

A simple, quick & easy card today.

I sat at my work table the other night, needing thank you cards but not having an ounce of creativity in me. As I looked around the mess I saw this beautiful swirly paper (Making Memories). hmmmm.... what could I pair with that! Then I spied the Thanks sentiment in the Friendly Expressions set that was still on my table. Perfect!

I inked up the words with Spring Moss (PTI) and the swirls with Night of Navy (SU!) and stamped it on Choice Buttercream cardstock (Taylored Expressons). Needing a little something more, I added some gold Tiny Twinkles on the swirls.

Here's a close up:

I used a rectangle Nestability to give it a nice finished look and then inked around the edge with Spring Moss.

A couple rows of faux stitching using my tracing wheel and there you have it. Simple, quick and easy! HB

A cup of tea...

I love this saying:

It's from the Warm Happiness set (Pinefeather Press for Papertrey Ink). When it's cold out, and it seems like Spring is a hundred years away, there is nothing better than a friend to whine to, laugh with, just BE with.

I love simple cards like this to fill with hugs and send to someone I'm missing. Shoot. I better make some more!
