<=== This! Isn't it cool? I was playing with Pine's Snowfall set (Papertrey Ink) the other night. I wanted to make thank you notes for my staff at work for how hard they worked over year-end. Since I have both men and women on my team, I knew the cards needed to be neutral, and yet special.I had pulled some Softsky designer paper (SU!) from my stash and tried stamping the snowflakes in Softsky ink on white... too dull. I tried embossing them... too boring. Nothing was giving me the *pop* I wanted. Then I spied a package of shrink plastic. Remember that stuff? I cut out a scallop circle (Nestabilities), stamped the large snowflake in white ink (Colorbox), and punched a hole with my Crop-a-Dile (large size). Then I shrunk it using my heat gun. It turned into a perfect clear charm! The white ink really pops and I placed a little pearl in the center for a finishing touch.
I stamped *thanks* (Papertrey Ink) on a little jewelry tag and tied them both to a white satin ribbon (May Arts) with embroidery floss.
The cards are 4x4 and are simply a white cardstock base, layer of Softsky cardstock, white mat, layer of Softsky polka dot paper.
Here's a closeup. I used a tracing wheel to run a couple of swirly faux stitching lines around the edge.
Easy peasy card to put together! I made 8 of these in a couple hours. (ok, a couple hours might seem like a long time for YOU, but for me... that's FAST! lol)
My staff must have liked them, because they all have them sitting on their desk! Yeaaa!

I love the simplicity of the design and the color combo! Thank you for sharing...especially how much time it took you. I wish more bloggers would tell us novices how long it took to make the beautiful cards. I'm new, so I sit here and cut, and paste, (and throw away) and then cut and paste and manage to make a card in a day (hehehe) which is sometimes discouraging because I'm wondering - how long does it take these other women to make these gorgeous cards? Am I not doing something right? You've given me encouragement to keep doing!! And I'm going to try that shrink plastic idea TODAY! Thanks so much for sharing:->

I love the cards!!! I still have a little (ok at least 2 packs) poly shrink - maybe I should un-hoard a little? Cards like this would be well worth, uhmmm - shrinking my stash. (sorry - couldn't resist)
And a tracing wheel - just like the one from my sewing basket? Where is that thing? (I have a stash of tracing paper, too. Wonder how that would work on a card?)

A couple of hours is fast for me, too. Gosh, they're so pretty! I love the snowflake thingy. I haven't used my polyshrink in ages, but I always had lots of fun with it. These are so cool!
